This was a cute little game that was very enjoyable! The puzzles weren't too hard and the art style was very cute.

a great puzzle :)

This was great, very relaxing atmosphere, and I think the fairly simple puzzles add to that very nicely.

a sweet game with a sweet ending! the puzzle is interesting -- took a bit to get started, but once you know what the game is looking for it was quite straightforward. the note on the tome definitely helps!

thank you so much! we're glad to hear it helped :)

Well crafted puzzle. Feels like it could be the start of a larger game. Enjoyd playing.

thank you! and who knows, we may revisit this world at a later date. we're so happy people playing it!

Great game! A fullscreen option would be nice to appreciate the beautiful art.

thank you so much!

Very cute, atmospheric game! I really like the tome puzzle :D

thank you! we're super happy to hear you enjoyed it! the puzzles gave me (nilofar) the most trouble, so knowing that people liked it means a lot :)

Clever puzzle! The artwork is lovely and so is the entire presentation (UI, music, story).

thank you! and thank you so much for playing!

A beautiful game! Took me a while to get there, but I figured it out in the end! I would love to play a full game with this art style, writing, music and atmosphere. 10/10!

your praise means a lot to us, thank you very much! perhaps one day we'll make a longer game together; for now, though, we're so happy to have shared this one with you all!

Super adorable and super cozy!

thank you very much!!

I've tried every combo for the book I could think of, and nothing

hello! we just updated with a new build and added a little hint, we hope you can check it out!

still no go, because it's only in your mind that the order makes sense (whatever it is) — is it left to right, is it alphabetical, is it low position to high, is it the number of items (4 eyes, 1 leaf, etc.)?  there are simply too many variables for it to be entertaining, sorry

Some clues are not that bad to find. The clues have different aspects so you have to not overthink it that much.

For example, you got the 4 eyes hint, so you put the clue in the 4th combination

The artstyle of A. Yvon is just marvelous! And the overall mood of the game, the narrative and music - it's giving some really positive vibes and cozy feelings.

I am not that experienced with such kind of games and would need help with solving the code, though. Is a certain order of symbols needed? A mechanic helping to justify if I am on the right track would be nice for players like me.

thank you so much for the kind comments and the feedback! if/when we update the game, we will definitely look into refining the tome's lock mechanic.

as for a couple of code hints: the 5 symbols of the password do not repeat, so 1 symbol is unused. look for items and environmental clues that depict a number or ordinal. let us know if you need more help!

I am sure abot 4 symbols. For the 5th one I tried the 2 left after each other - no luck. So I assume a certain order is required, but I can't find any hint for this. Other than the one item standing on the far right side of a shelf - that's the only fact I would interpret as a required position.

if the bookshelf, desk, and general attic area don't seem to have any obvious clues, pay close attention to runi's dialogue -- sometimes their musings are more than just flavor text.

if the 5th symbol isn't one of the remaining ones in your current attempt, then i'd suggest thinking over the other 4 symbols and what made you so sure about their position. there might be something you missed. but we promise the answers are all in this room!

(Slight spoilers as I gush about everything in this game)

A very short but, personally, emotionally impactful fun puzzle game.

Point-and-click puzzle games are definitely one of my fave genres up there - it's very satisfying to just click and learn about everything as you think about how to go about the game. The longest part of the game that new players will find themselves in Loftlock would be in the attic where this happy, slightly upbeat music accompanies you while you try to solve the puzzle. I loved seeing Runi's personality show through their musings and comments, and the environment tells so much about the relationship between them and their grandmother. I also loved seeing bits of lore about the setting of this game. The art itself is gorgeous, the soft warm air in the attic I could feel even when I'm shivering from my air conditioning in real life. The different emotions on the characters as they make their dialogues were fun to see too. Both the art and writing make each individual item in the game feel more real and natural in this fantasy setting.

But all of those could not compare to the emotional impact that hit me as the music transitions when you finally solve the puzzle. Personally, it had a line that hit me like a break down truck - but regardless of that, I like how both the player and Runi can get the same realization (the player getting too focused on solving the puzzle then bam) as their grandmother explains the book. The music choice is perfect. I didn't know a short game could hold so much weight but now I do. Thanks for the nice fun ride :)

we all poured our hearts into this, and we're so happy that the final product resonates with people. you already know my particular story behind the line that you're talking about (if we're talking about the same one, and i think we are), so know that i am squeezing your hand across the world in solidarity.
